20th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Member States.

On 10 November 2020, the SCO Council of Heads of State (CHS) held a meeting via videoconference. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, Acting President and Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Imran Khan, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov and Director of the

Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure Jumakhon Giyosov. Others taking part in the summit were heads of SCO observer states: President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Roman Golovchenko, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani, and President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres delivered a welcome address via video. The SCO CHS was chaired by President of Russia Vladimir Putin. light of the dominant processes in world politics and the economy. It was unanimously stressed that in a situation where international relations were involved in a profound transformation the SCO continued to assert itself as an important pillar of the emerging representative and just international order based on supremacy of international law, equal and indivisible security, and respect for civilisational diversity and sovereignty. Noting the historic importance of the Victory of peace-loving states and peoples over Nazism, fascism and militarism and the creation of the United Nations Organisation in 1945, the SCO member states reaffirmed their invariable support for the strengthening of the coordinating role of the UN and its Security Council as the key factor in maintaining mankind's...
