18 commercial units sealed over non-payment of railway dues.

KOHAT -- Pakistan railways officials on Wednesday sealed 18 commercial units over non-payment of more than Rs1 million dues outstanding against the occupants.

The occupants were given one-day deadline to deposit the money, or face legal action.

Ms Wazir, magistrate of the railways department, accompanied by the railway police and local administration officials, took the action. She said the action had been taken on the directives of divisional superintendent, Peshawar division, Nasir Khalili.

She also visited the railway colony on the complaints of the employees and vacated six bungalows and quarters from the illegal civilian occupants.

She said the arrears against the occupants of the residential units had been outstanding for months.

It may be recalled that demolition of illegal structures constructed within the prohibited areas from the railway line is also continuing.
