15,244 kanals retrieved from land grabbers.

RAWALPINDI -- The Punjab government retrieved 15,244 kanals worth Rs6 billion from land grabbers in the Rawalpindi division between Oct 2018 and Dec 2019.

This was stated by Commissioner Mohammad Mehmood while reviewing work of the revenue department at a meeting.

The commissioner directed to complete the posting of staff to 23 land revenue centres in 22 tehsils of the division and open 16 more centres to facilitate the citizens.

He said more than 90 per cent record of villages had been computerised but there was a need to speed up the digitalisation of the remaining record.

'All revenue officials (patwaris) should sit in their circles regularly and listen to public complaints from 10am to 12 noon,' he said.
