119 Corona deaths, 4,951 cases in a day reported Confirmed cases tally reaches 179, 445.

Islamabad -- Pakistan has confirmed 119 deaths in a single day by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 179,445. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 3,501 on Sunday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center, 4,951 persons were tested positive for Covid-19 in 24 hours.

Till now 69,628 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 65,739 in Punjab, 21,997 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 9,328 in Balochistan, 10,662 in Islamabad, 1,278 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 813 in Azad Kashmir.

Sindh has reported the most number of cases, with 69,628, followed by Punjab with 65,739. The two provinces have collectively reported around 75 per cent of the country's Covid-19 caseload.

Punjab recorded 1,523 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of infections across the province to 65,739, according to the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department.

A spokesperson for the department said, 60 more people died from coronavirus in the previous 24 hours, taking the total number of fatalities to 1,407 in the province.
