10 'troublemaker' medics penalised.

MULTAN -- The administration of Dera Ghazi Khan Teaching Hospital has imposed penalties on 10 doctors on charges of disrupting the discipline of the institution, damaging the public property and defaming the profession.

In a letter to the hospital's medical superintendent, the DG Khan Medical College principal stated that a meeting of academic council of the college was held on May 9 and 10 doctors were found guilty of fight at various places causing disruption in patient-related services, harassment in vicinity of the hospital, damaging the public property and creating law and order situation.

He stated that strict disciplinary action had been decided against each doctor over his [alleged] role in various illegal activities.

As per decision of the council, Dr Hafiz Nauman Hussain Chaudhry and Dr Muhammad Ameen were relieved of their duties, their stipend stopped immediately and their hostel allotment cancelled.

Stipend of Dr Abdul Manan was stopped immediately besides cancellation of his allotment. Dr Wajid Hussain Buzdar was surrendered to health department and his allotment cancelled. Salaries of Dr Umar Farooq, Dr Hidayatullah, Dr Awais Leghari and Dr Agha Shahzad were stopped immediately with the recommendation to the department to terminate their services while their allotments were also cancelled.
