1,000 ex-Fata health vacancies to be filled by July.

PESHAWAR -- The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has begun the recruitment process to fill 1,000 vacancies in grades from BPS-3 to BPS-18 for various health service delivery outlets in the newly-merged tribal districts previously called Fata.

The process will be completed by July this year, officials told a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan here on Thursday.

They said more than 1,100 additional posts would also be created in the next phase.

Under the plan, a total of 2,300 new positions will be created for strengthening health sector in tribal districts.

The meeting reviewed progress on various initiatives of the provincial government taken to improve health service delivery system in merged districts.

The meeting was given a detailed presentation on the progress made so far on the strengthening of public sector hospitals, provision of necessary equipment and medicines to hospitals, creation of new posts for the hospitals, filling of vacancies, and other initiatives launched under the Accelerated Implementation Plan (AIP).

Regarding the schemes approved for the strengthening of healthcare system in the newly-merged districts, officials said the schemes included up-gradation of DHQ Hospital, Khar, Bajaur tribal district from Category B to Category A, up-gradation of DHQ Hospital, Parachinar, Kurram tribal district from Category C to Category B, establishment of...
